Two hours left in 2007. This year has gone by faster then any I can remember. My wife and I are sitting here getting ready for all the countdown shows to start on TV. I hope everyone has a great New Year and I’ll see ya back here in 2008!

These are the machines in our OCR department where I work. They are responsible for scanning each piece of mail and verifying the address for sorting before delivery to the post office. There are five computers total (one is on the other side of the cabinet). We finally found a solid method of backing the systems up, so that’s what I’m doing right now. There are mixed OS’s on the machines (one is even running Linux) so we’re just Ghosting a complete drive image to an external hard drive. Then multiple DVD’s are burned of each drive image for in-house as well as off site backups. Not a bad way to spend the last day of 2007.
