I’ve been wanting to buy a new amp for my guitar. I decided to buy a USB digital audio interface instead and just play through my computer. After some research, I found the TonePort UX1 from Line6. I set it up earlier this evening and I have to say, so far it’s been everything the reviews said it would be. The included software installed with no problems and updated to the newest Windows Vista compatible versions. The Gearbox software that’s used for amp modeling and effects is AMAZING! The amount of options can be a little overwhelming at first but it’s great to have options. The actual hardware has one instrument input, one headphone output and an XLR mic input on the front. The back of the box has a monitor in, left/right analog outs and left/right line ins plus the USB connector. It’s USB bus powered which is great since it means I don’t have to plug another wall wort in. Once I get to make a few recordings, I’ll post some more and might even put up a sound clip. :)
